2013 Cricket Week

Wednesday 10^th July to Sunday 14^th July

Please note the key date, Saturday 13th July, when we are hosting a 6-a-side tournament.

The intention is to create a ‘village fete’ atmosphere with a live band, entertainment and of course lots of the local cider!

We will also be raising funds for both Arul Suppiah’s benefit year and the Tom Maynard Trust. The 6 teams competing are; Somerset Legends, Richard Ellison XI, Team GB XI, ‘Celebrity’ XI, Millfield Legends and the OMCC. Arul has a benefit committee provided by Somerset CCC, and they are helping to co-ordinate the hospitality side of the event which involves a guest speaker, 3 course dinner, auction etc. If there is any interest in the hospitality, rates per table etc please contact Nick Brothers.

For those that don’t want to purchase tickets, there will be a separate beer/cider tent, a live band and BBQ. We really want to push this side of the day through the school’s alumni network and try to get a good crowd of OMs back for the day, so please advertise to old friends as well. All of the cricket teams, with the exception of the OMCC (debatably), will have well-known names playing, so the cricket will be entertaining and the good form will continue after play has finished with some song and dance late into the evening.

We will continue to provide more information on this event as the teams become finalised. In the meantime please just make a note of this date in the diary for now.
